Interesting Facts
Zexmenia is a larval host plant for the Bordered Patch butterfly, and attracts lots of other butterflies that drink nectar from the flowers. Blooms almost year-round. You can cut the plant back after each flush of blooms to encourage more to form. Cut it to ground in winter when freeze causes plant material to go dormant. Will survive in sun, shade or part shade. May become a bit leggy if planted in the shade, especially if soil is wet. Prefers well-drained soil.
