Interesting Facts

Produces very large flowers, up to 12 inches in diameter.  Each flower is soft pink with a bright pink center.  Each flower only lasts for one day.  The Texas Smartscape plant database recommends hybridized cultivars 'Southern Belle' and 'Lord Baltimore' as equally well-suited to our climate.  The 'Lord Baltimore' cultivar, with bright red flowers instead of pink, is actually considered a Texas Superstar plant!
